One of the biggest challenges with older homes in Hugo is the way moisture and time wear down the materials. Brick can crack, mortar crumbles, and even the best-installed liners can shift over years. We’ve seen chimneys in this area where the original builders didn’t account for the freeze-thaw cycles Minnesota winters bring. That’s why we don’t just sweep; we inspect the whole structure, looking for signs of deterioration before they become costly repairs. If your chimney’s been standing for 50 years, it’s earned that kind of care, and it’s what Hugo homeowners expect when they call us.
What sets us apart isn’t just our tools or our training, but our approach. We treat every chimney like it’s part of your home, not just a vent. That means explaining the details, why your liner might need replacing, how creosote buildup in a wood-burning fireplace can turn dangerous, or why a small crack in the mortar could lead to bigger problems down the road. Hugo’s older neighborhoods, like those near the river or along the older streets, have chimneys that need this kind of expertise. We’re not here to upsell; we’re here to make sure your chimney works as well today as it did when your house was new. And if it doesn’t, we’ll tell you why, and how to fix it.
